I wasn’t aware of how many ways we can use rubber ducks until a daring user mentioned how creating audiologs is helping “The biggest benefit for me is processing my thoughts. Talking as if it's intended for an audience without any sort of script helps me organize my thoughts - like the rubber ducky method.”
The “Rubber Duck Technique", in software engineering, is a method of debugging code, and now it seems we can use it to debug Life decisions too. It’s a reference to a story in the book “The Pragmatic Programmer” in which a programmer would carry around a rubber duck and debug their code by forcing themselves to explain it, line-by-line, to the duck.
Imagine you have to explain new learnings or tough decisions to the duck. Does it come easy? Does it make sense while you explain it? Will it help to process your thoughts?
As I’m working on a set of questions to help our users process those thoughts, ideas, and decisions that will improve their decision making. I’d be very interested in knowing which aspirations you have today and if you want to be part of the program. Feel free to do it through this 1min form.
